any thoughts on moving mobius to linux aswell??

In theory that's possible as Juce supports it. I use Linux occasionally at work but I don't at home, so it would be hard for me to test with it. I won't rule it out, but I don't get a lot of requests for it, really you're the first. The next major platform that would happen first would be mobile: iOS and Android.

The iPad in particular is hugely popular with the music community. Mostly beat boxers rather than live loopers, but still there is a big audience there. I'll have some competition though. Loopy Pro is pretty good, and it looks real pretty, but has limitations.

We'll have to really up our pre-recorded synchronized loop game to play in that world.

jeff That sounds great and im really happy for having this kind of plans. Yeah linux sounds a bit useless to add but since we use it for livelooping its better to use an os that eats up as less harware as possible (no matter how strong or weak is the system)

Dear Jeff, I just joined the forum and thank you very much for the great work you are doing with Mobius3.
Sorry for my English, I am Italian, and a big fan of music and looping.
In recent years I have switched to a Linux platform, with which I make music and compose.
It would be really interesting, given the large number of Linux enthusiasts who develop music with Linux, if the code was also ported to this wonderful operating system.
You would have a large number of people who would rely on your plugin.

I just wanna say. I would sacrifice my first born child AND my kidney for an android version of Mobius.

I'm way beyond the child raising age, but maybe closer to needing a kidney so this could be a good trade. 😃

When I restarted this, around 2 years ago now, one of the goals was the eventual support for mobile. The main problems with that are related to the UI. Better support for smaller screens and touch interface. As I mentioned, I use a multi-platform development tool called Juce which has support for both iOS and Android as target systems. So in theory I just recompile it for Android, and it works. In practice though, the UI would be barely usable in its current form.

The UI has always been the last thing in Mobius to get any attention, and it is long overdue for a redesign. When I get to that, I'll be doing it with mobile in mind, but there are a few other larger features I'd like to finish first, before I spend a year doing nothing but UI work.

I'm retired now, and I don't like golf or whittling or whatever the hell else it is old people are supposed to do, so this is my full-time job for awhile. It'll get there eventually but it's hard to say when. I really need to post a "product roadmap" that outlines what's on the list and let people vote on that.
