Individual Binding Aliases

It would be nice to rename individual bindings to categorize better. The alias could even be listed in its own column rather than replacing the function name text entirely, so you could see both what you named it next to the original function.

So instead of "Record" with scope 4, you could give it an alias like "Rec4"?

That's similar to how UI buttons work, you can give each UI button a display name. The default would show as Record(4) but you could ask that the button show "Rec4" instead. But that only works for UI buttons.

Yeah, that’s right. And to keep the alias in a separate column along with the original function would help for when you rename a binding to something unique. So instead of Rec(4) you might want to edit it to something like “Pad 7” or “Controller X Record.”

Scripts have custom names by nature, which helps identify what they’re used for. Aliases could fill a similar role with regular bindings in a dedicated column. I got the idea from how Bome aliases look for MIDI sources.
