Missing Elements of MIDI Tracks

I know MIDI Tracks are still quite young in development and there are probably higher priorities to attend to before revamping them—just thought I'd log some of my observations while I'm in the habit of using them more:

1) AutoRecord isn't functioning properly, it only records normally.
2) MIDI Tracks don't obey Rewind/Pause or Stop functions when executed from a .mos script that targets all tracks.
3) When there is only one MIDI track in the strip, and it's synced to Host, it is defaultly the Track Sync Master, even when the first recording happens on a Host-synced audio track (which I expect become the track sync master after it initializes a recording).

2) is the way .mos scripts work, .mos doesn't know anything about MIDI tracks, it can only operate on audio tracks
3) I'll need some more info on this one, the TSM is assigned to the first track that ends first* and MIDI tracks are allowed to be the TSM unless this is disabled with a newer parameter

Cool. I think I remember you mentioning that for #2 a while back, now that you say it.

What is the newer parameter? I do want the MIDI track to be the TSM, only if I record on it first. Currently, it steals TSM status when I record first to Track 1 (audio), which is host-sync by default.

Coming back to report a bug with the newer Track Master Select parameter. Setting it to "Never" (or any other values fwiw) on a MIDI Track does not prevent it from becoming the TSM in Host Sync. This feeds into the previously mentioned bug where a MIDI Track's TSM status stays stuck until opening a fresh project, and where audio tracks set to Track Sync do not follow a MIDI Track that initially starts as TSM.

One other thing; when Mobius is loaded after I refresh my FL project, the TSM label goes away on the MIDI Track. It isn't on there by default; it's not there if I open in standalone either. But if I use it once as the first track to record, it labels it as TSM for the rest of the time I have the FL project running. Then despite things like GlobalReset (or TrackReset for that matter), or starting record on a different host-sync track first, TSM remains stuck on the MIDI Track and governs some behavior with track sync in audio tracks.

Following up, is there a chance of adding a MIDI Input channel override in the future? I have quite a few devices with different channels sent over a single Bome virtual port, and I only want one of the channels from the keybed to be recorded on a MIDI track.

Hi Alexis, being a Bome's user myself, wouldnt it be better to have an extra Bomes vitrual input dedicated to Mobius itself, then setting up the routing should be fairly simple, with a translator sending the keyboard input to that virtual input?

Yes, essentially that's the setup I am currently running. Multiple controllers are sent to the Mobius plugin on a dedicated Bome port, and I use those controllers for various purposes. It is 90% fine as it stands, except for when recording to MIDI Tracks, where there is a chance that any Note On/Off message coming in from Channel 5 (footswitch) bindings leaks into the actual MIDI recording, and I need only Notes from Channel 6 (keyboard) to be recorded on this track in particular. Similar to how an output override helps to target certain synths, so a corresponding input override channel for MIDI Tracks would help in a situation like this. In theory, I could write a translator that turned the Notes from Channel 5 into CCs instead, and then bind those respectively so they don't affect the output, but it would be much simpler to have it built-in as a setting for MIDI Tracks.

Hope this isn't adding too many subtopics to the thread, but just to throw another "missing element" out there, I discovered with MIDI tracks that the Output parameter for MIDI tracks doesn't affect the volume output.
