HELP. Mobius won't show up in Ableton Live.

I've installed Mobius and its in my plug in folder and I can use it as a standalone and in Logic but it doesn't show up in Live. Any suggestions?

Billowhead and you rescanned plugins in settings? Just to confirm. And plugin settings looking at the right folder?

Billowhead To follow up on @trevorn1, Ableton Live 12.1 and onward only automatically scans for plugins after an update to Ableton. All other times you need to manually perform the scan from the options menu. If you've done the scan and it's still not working, the advice from Ableton seems to be to reset Ableton's plugin database file. https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/16261934134940-Rescanning-plug-ins-in-Live-12-1

Yeah, try a rescan and in the Live Options->Settings->Plug-Ins make sure "Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders" is On.

Billowhead Sorry to hear that you've had no luck so far. I've been assuming you've been trying to get the VST3 plugin to work. On re-reading your original post I noticed you mention that Mobius appears as plugin when using Logic. Does that mean you're using a Mac? Am I right that Logic only uses Audio Unit plugins? I have Ableton Live Lite on both a Windows machine (which I mainly use) and a Mac mini, I don't have Logic on the Mac, but I do have MainStage and that only uses AU plugins. When I look at the plugin settings on the Mac install of Ableton, I see that there are separate on/off settings for using Audio Units v2 and Audio Units v3. Mine are switched off but I don't know whether that's the default or not. Perhaps you could try switching them on and rescanning.

When you say "my plugin folder", are you using the Mobius installer and leaving them in the default plugin folder (/Users/<yourname>/Library/...), or do you have a custom folder of your own that you like to keep plugins in?

Billowhead (I'm going to assume you are using a Mac) If I use finder to look in "Macintosh HD:/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins" in the "Components" folder I have a file called "Mobius.component" with a file size of 51.1MB and in the "VST3" folder I have a file called "Mobius.vst3" with a file size of 52.5MB. (I think the plugins can also be under "Macintosh HD: /Users/<myusername>/Library/Audio/Plugin-Ins" and ableton will still find them but the above is how it's set up on my mac.)

Can you confirm you have the same?

Within Ableton if I select "Plugin-Ins from within the "Library" section of the left-hand browser window I see a list of plugin-in creators including "Circular Labs". Clicking on the small triangle to the left of that name expands the entry to show two Mobius entries (one for the Audio Unit and one for the VST3).

So I've tried all of the above, created new db files nd so on and still Live won't recognize Circular Labs. I'm going to reinstall Live Intro and Mobius again and see if anything changes.

There seem to be a few Ableton articles about this. One comment I saw that was interesting relates to Mac Intel vs. Silicon builds and the use of Rosetta to run Intel builds on an M1 mac.

So...What kind of Mac do you have Intel or Silicon? For either make sure that you downloaded the right version of Mobius from the web site, there are two different Mac links, one for each target processor. If you are on Silicon/M1, are you running an Intel version of Live under Rosetta? That has a number of compatibility issues.
